Funnel Dogs

Ingredients:
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/4 cups plus 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • oil for deep frying
  • powdered sugar for sprinkling (optional)
Directions:
  1. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, milk and sugar.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Beat into egg mixture until smooth.
  4. Heat oil to 375 degrees in a fryer or deep sauce pan/saute’ pan.
  5. Heat the hot dogs on boiling water or in a skillet, then pat dry.
  6. Cover the hot dogs in batter and fry until golden, about 1 1/2- 2 minutes.
  7. Insert a corn dog or lolli stick, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
