Coffee Marinated Steak Flatbread with Bruschetta

1 flank steak (about 1.5 pounds)

For the marinade

  • 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

For the Onions:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 small onions; diced

For the Bruschetta

  • 6 ripe plum tomatoes; diced
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves; sliced into chiffonade
  • 2 shallots; finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic; minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

4 Indian flatbreads (Naan) or pocket less pita

1/2 cup of your favorite shredded or crumbled  cheese

2 tablespoons+ balsamic vinegar
