Candy Coated Easter Eggs in Chocolate Bird’s Nest

Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 package White Cake Mix
  • ¼ cup Lemon Jell-O (any flavor can substitute)
  • ¼ cup Lime Jell-O (any flavor can substitute)
  • ¼ cup Strawbery Jell-O (any flavor can substitute)
  • Wilton Mini Egg Pan
  • Royal Icing

Directions:

  1. Prepare cake batter as directed on package; divide evenly into 3 bowls
  2. Stir different flavor dry gelatin mix into each bowl.
  3. Alternately spoon batters into each mold, adding about 2 tbsp of each batter to each mold
  4. Bake as directed on package for cupcakes
  5. Cool completely

Candy Coating Easter Eggs

Ingredients:

  • Egg cakes
  • Royal Icing
  • Wilton Candy Melts

Directions:

  1. Flatten the underside of the mini egg cakes with a knife so they lay flat on a surface, repeat to the bottom of the larger side of the egg while it is standing horizontally
  2. Pipe or spread icing onto the underside and sandwich the icing with another mini egg cake
  3. Place in the freezer for approximately 30 mins
  4. Melt the Wilton Candy melts in a double boiler or microwave until they are smooth. 
  5. With each egg standing, drizzle candy melts until entire surface is covered
  6. Place in fridge until cool and candy is hardened
  7. Decorate with candy melts, sprinkles, etc as desired

Chocolate Birds Nest

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ pounds Wilton Candy Melts
  • Can use Chocolate or Green Melts
  • 1 can Chow Mein Noodles

Directions:

  1. Melt candy melts over low heat
  2. Add noodles and stir gently to cover with chocolate
  3. Drop chocolate covered noodles by the spoonful onto waxed paper
  4. Make a depression in the center with a spoon
  5. Place in refrigerator for cooling
  6. Place eggs in nest and serve
