Nationally syndicated TV Host, Audra Lowe has interviewed some of Hollywood’s most famous celebrities, popular athletes in professional sports and some of the country’s highest-ranking politicians and business executives. Since 2007 as Host of the lifestyle TV program, "The Better Show", Audra set out to earn a reputation as a warm-hearted personality with the ability to effortlessly maneuver between hard-hitting interviews, hot topics, sports, and celebrity gossip without skipping a beat. Recently, Audra became the Host of “The Broadway Channel”, also based in New York City.
Growing up, Audra always sought out people, products and places that could make one’s life “better” in some way or another. So, at the advice of her mother, Audra set her sights on pursuing a career in journalism and as a teenager, took steps to become the first in her family to pursue a career outside of corporate America. Today, Audra’s broadcasting career includes 24 years of combined experience in entertainment, sports, and news—including coverage of the September 11th attacks, the Oklahoma City bombing, the O.J. Simpson trial, and the Rodney King verdict. Prior to "The Better Show", Audra hosted Fox Sports’ “FoxWire”, and other sports updates viewed by millions of fans daily. Audra also hosted the entertainment show, "FoxNOW"— becoming one of the first to nab backstage interviews with “American Idol” finalists.
During her six seasons as host at “The Better Show”, Audra has been highly instrumental in growing the show’s visibility by over 600%. “Better” initially began in 12 U.S. markets and is now seen in over 80% of the country. The show—which is produced by Meredith Corporation (known for brands like Better Homes & Gardens, More, Fitness and Ladies Home Journal)—is a one hour format dedicated to featuring topics that make your life “better”-- family, finance, food, health, entertainment, etc.. Audra is also responsible for producing and creating numerous segments on the show, including the “Ask the Doctors” segment and the “Lowe Down”—an after show run-down that gives viewers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at what goes into taping each show and fun tidbits about guests. The "Lowe Down" is posted to Bettertv.com
Other career highlights and accomplishments include Audra ranking as one of the Top 10 TV Lifestyle Hosts on Twitter (7/19/2012) by Klout Score. Audra is also regularly invited to host and participate on discussion panels nationwide, including the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ)—an organization she's held membership in for several years. As a wife and new mom, Audra has developed keen insight which she brings to her role as a Self-Improvement Expert and emerging entrepreneur. Audra is in the process of launching a line of products and services that embody her personal style and appeals to all ages, with the common thread of making life “better” in some shape or form. In 2011, Audra launched “Lowe Blow Tees”, a line of maternity shirts branded after her own pregnancy experiences.
Audra earned two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an M.A. from UCLA. She's a self-proclaimed “sports-a-holic” (basketball and NASCAR being her favorite) and loves racing cars. She divides her time between New York and Los Angeles with her husband and baby girl. Audra is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and spends a great deal of time in Los Angeles as an advisor to the Center for Sports & Entertainment, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing skills of youth by exposing and preparing them for diverse careers in the sports and entertainment industry. Among Audra’s daily maxims, comes a quote from the late sports legend, John Wooden: “Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are."
