Pulled Pork Sliders

Dry Rub Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons coarsely ground black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons (packed) dark brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoons coarse salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Cooking Marinade Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons coarsely ground black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons (packed) dark brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoons coarse salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne peppe

Prepare pork:

  1. Mix together in a bowl ingredients for dry rub and completely rub pork. (can be done the evening before or at least 3-4 hours before, cover and refrigerate)

Prepare cooking marinade:

  1. Heat skillet and saute onion and garlic in olive oil, until softened remove onion and garlic and mix with remaining ingredients

Cook pork

  1. Bring pork to room temperature, then put in slow cooker, add cooking marinade and cover cook on low for 8-9 hrs until tender, halfway thru cooking time turn pork so other side gets cover in marinade if needed.
  2. Uncover pork and, when cool enough to handle, shred meat on a cutting board.
  3. Transfer meat and any juices accumulated on cutting board to slow cooker and allow to get fully absorbed into meet (approximately 15 mins.)
  4. Assemble sliders and top with your favorite cole slaw if desired for an added crunch and freshness.
