New Year's Eve Cocktails

Out with the old, in with the new. Try these classic cocktails with a new twist at your New Year's Eve party.
Royal Tannenbaum

2 oz. London dry style gin
1/2 oz. Zirbenz pine liqueur
1/4 oz. simple syrup
Ice cubes

Tools: shaker, strainer
Glass: cocktail
Garnish: rosemary sprig

Shake ingredients until shaker is icy cold, strain into a glass and garnish.

Winter Julep

1-1/2 oz. bourbon
3/4 oz. brown sugar syrup (see below)
1 tsp. peppermint tea
Hot water

Glass: Irish coffee or brandy snifter
Tools: tea infuser, spoon
Garnish: mint sprig

Warm a glass with hot water. Dump hot water out of glass. Brew tea in 5 oz. of fresh boiling water for 4 minutes. Remove infuser. Add bourbon and brown sugar syrup; stir to combine. Garnish.

To make brown sugar syrup, combine equal parts dark brown sugar and boiling water, and allow to cool.
