Just the price of a home cooked meal that we will work on together, a bottle of wine and our hot tub!
My husband and I will be spending $0 on one another. I used to like the idea of Valentine’s Day but I really don’t like all the expectation that falls around it – single people are always depressed, and people in relationships come to “expect” something or feel disappointed if they do not receive it. We DO, however, believe in the concept of Valentine’s Day, we just choose to pick a day out of the year at random to surprise the other with flowers, a special dinner, chocolates, etc. It is MUCH more special if it truly is a surprise! And the best feeling is knowing you are not being a slave to consumerism on a specific day of the year.
Nothing. We have each other – and that will need to be enough this year. It’s all we can afford – and it’s priceless!
Money is tight, so I went looking for something different, but fairly cheap. Googled big valentine card & found a company called Colossal Gram. They send a HUGE 5′ by 7′ pink telegram. Should be fun. Maybe I’ll send the grandkids one, too. They’d sure get a kick out of something so big.
I am spending at least $200 on my husband. He deserves it because he is not only a good husband he is an awesome father and these days it is hard to find a good man with the full package.
Does it really matter?
