Oleanna: On Broadway with Julia Stiles and Bill Pullman
David Mamet’s intense drama “Oleanna” is making its Broadway debut along with Julia Stiles who plays Carol, a student caught in the power struggle with her professor John, played by actor Bill Pullman.
It’s a gripping story originally staged in the 90’s at the time when Anita Hill and Clarence Thomas were front page news.
Both actors give an incredible performance, in a whirlwind of emotion. It is not to be missed. We talked with both actors about their love of Mamet’s writing and how they staged this version more like a tragedy than a political manifesto.
Julia Stiles is very excited about debuting on Broadway. She has played Carol in a London production. She says she plans to keep making the Bourne movies, too. She also said her breakout role was in the movie “10 Things I Hate About You” with Heath Ledger. Oleanna is playing the Golden in NYC. You can catch the full story on Better on October 5th.
